If I ever decide to make another quilt I will not… repeat will not hand baste it myself.
All I wanted to do today was get the basting done on my bubbles quilt.
I put the little girl down for her lunch time nap and got to work. I have a bad knee and have trouble kneeling for an extended period of time so doing this quilt was torture. It took me a whole nap and 2 Baby Einstein DVDs to get it done (about 2.5 hours). Our cat didn’t help either and pounced on my hands for every stitch. Well, he did until he got locked in the garage.
I don’t think that I did a particularily good job but it will be good enough. Nearing the end I really wasn’t giving it my best effort, I just wanted it to be finished.
I am glad that it is done because now I can start on the quilting. This is also a daunting task and kind of wish that I had made it smaller. I guess I should stop whinging and just get on with it. I know will be happy with it the finished item.
