I have been told that thre are Steiner "barbie equivalent" dolls available as an alternative to the real barbie dolls. I have resisted buying one for my 5 year old but am worried that it will become more and more difficult to convince her that she doesn't "need" a barbie doll. She loves all the "beautiful' clothes barbie has and I'm not very skilled at sewing or dressmaking. Has anyone heard of such a barbie alternative and if so where are they available??

[...] Look what I made! This Steiner doll is for my 2yo great-grandson Elijah, who looks just a little like this, with the help of soozs’ tutorial. The bed is made with ultra-soft flannel and lined with felt to give it body. I hope Elijah wants to take this cute little doll to bed with him at night! [...]
