I finally got my act together and got stuck into hand quilting my bubble quilt. I bought the fabric from the prints charming stall at the Sydney Craft fair last June. The top is just simple alternate strips of the bubble fabric and white homespun. I am quilting random circles using perle cotton. I started all of this mid last year and it has sat as a UFO since then.
I dragged it out last week and started doing a few circles while watching TV. It has been great as it makes me just sit and relax for a while. I am due in 4 weeks and I am guilty of doing a lot more than I should in this stage of pregnancy.

From the photo you can only just see circles as the colour of the cotton does blend in a lot. There is also a closer pic of the material that I bought for the binding this morning. It is kind of orange and yellow stripes and it contrasts really well with the circles of the quilt.
I am hoping that I will have it all finished within a week. I am very proud of the way it is turning out.

Your hand stitching looks so neat, great job!
Its looking really lovely. I love the choice of orange. Love orange. Finished in a week? Good. Bring it to Noosa then so I can see it.
love the look of this quilt! (well the bit I can see!! lol) so looking forward to seeing a finshed pic. And the orange looks fab btw!
Hi
I’ve been desperately trying to locate this bubble fabric–any idea where I can purchase it?
Thanks.
To Elena,
It’s sold out almost everywhere b/c they’ve discontinued the line. However, you can find a few places that still carry it if you do a Google search for “D1619-030″ (it’s the item number). Most of the stores that still carry it are in Australia, but I’ve found shipping from there is surprisingly fast.
Hope that helps!
