Now that it is out of the way I can start on my next one. I am going to make a queen size quilt for our bed. It is a bit hot here for a doona over summer and I think a quilt would be ideal. Instead of just making a quilt with a sub-standard backing I have decided that I am going to make two quilt tops, so that it is reversible.
The first side is going to be based on Denyse Schmidts “what bunch of squares” quilt from her book.

The colours that I am going to use are an aqua/purple stripe and plain aqua for the centre and purples for the outside squares. The background of the quilt will be white.
The other side will be another “square” design and based on a quilt from the book I just got from amazon – the modern quilt workshop. It will also have a white background and I am going to use some some of my stash for the squares. I have quite a few old amy butler fat quarters and I plan to use these with contrasting solid colours.
