I haven’t been particularly busy recently, I just haven’t had a lot of spare time to do my sewing.
I was lucky enough to catch up with my good friend Sheridan over easter. Her and her family were staying at Noosa and we went up and visited for a couple of days. Seeing her again only increased my to do list and I love her for it. I really miss not having her around and especially miss our show and tell sessions.
She brought up my little boy cowboy quilt which I had quilted in Sydney. It was done with a continuous pattern of cowboy boots, hats and horse shoes and it really suits the quilts’ fabrics. I have already attached the binding and only have to hand stitch it down to finish it.

She also brought me some really nice white homespun (the best and most reasonably priced that we have found) for my Denyse Schmidt “bunch of squares” quilt. I have done all of the central purple/aqua blocks and only need to add the white borders and sashing to it. Additionally I bought some more coordinating fabric for the reverse side to make the “out of the box” quilt from the modern quilt workshop book.
When I caught up with Sheri I gave her her half of the stash for our joint quilt. And now that we both have our fabric we can get started on that too.
SO …. I have now three quilts in progress which is really four quilt tops. The cowboy quilt is almost finished, the “bunch of squares” is almost half done and the other two are still fabric piles ready to be cut. There is also the Gold Coast Craft and Quilt Fair on this week and I am hoping to go on Friday. Who knows what projects and ideas I will pick up from there and add to my to do list.
My little boy is due in 7 days, and I am hoping that once the baby arrives I can still find time to do all of this.

I don’t know how I missed a few of these posts. Bloglines has been keeping me out of the loop. Rude Bloglines.
We had such a lovely time, thank you for coming to visit us! I built up your to-do list again? With a baby about to pop out? Sounds like I am the worst friend around!
Oh, the show and tell sessions were the best. Thank goodness for the internet!
Now, I don’t think you told me you had completed your squares. They look absolutely gorgeous. Great choice of colours.
You might have inspired me to make one too. Gee, thanks very much!
