So now I am over sewing. Not really but I did need to try something different.
I finally had a chance to sit down fully briefed myself with the tutorials from crafty daisys and purl bee. Then with my happy hooker book, some wool and a hook – I taught myself to crochet.
I am not very good (yet) and I have only got as far as learning single and double crochet, but I will persist. This is something that I have been meaning to do for ages and I am enjoying it.
I have been inspired by thornberry and her botech scarves and of the unbelievably unrealistic dream of one day making the babette blanket [see flickr group] from interweave crochet Spring 06. I have also been lurking in the crochet section on ravelry and some of the crochet projects there are amazing too.

Great work! See, you’ll get completely addicted too. I’m also dreaming of the babette …
Congrats – welcome to the hair raising world of reading a crochet pattern!!!
Well done! One day I will do this too…
Oh well done, crocheting (and knitting) are on my “one day” list.
