I have just been looking back at Sheridan (aka Chaletgirl) and my posts on this Joint Quilt project. We decided on the pattern and fabric mid March 2007 and it wasn’t until May that we started making the blocks. I can’t believe that this quilt has been a WIP for a whole year and am really glad that we got it finished before it reached an anniversary! We never really set a deadline for this project, but we initially intended on making a block a month.
We chose the Freshcut range and had 3 different fabrics each. We made the 12 blocks in our fabrics and swapped every second one.

Sheridan went with another Freshcut fabric for the border and used a green sashing which looks great and ties all of the fabrics together.

And I went with a plain cream sashing and purple border.

Sheridan’s is already off to the quilter and I can’t wait to see the finished product. Mine will have to wait a little while.
It was a great project and I had lots of fun doing it. It was really nice getting a block in the mail every now and again too. The end result is a special quilt that I made with my friend and I know that she has one too.
Now the question is – what do we do next?

Yours looks so much better than mine! Great choice of fabrics.
Such a fun project, I loved working on it with you. Let’s do it again soon!
Ooh they both look gorgeous. Congratulations
