About Me

My very patient family that put up with my crafting consist of my husband,  my little girl and “not so” baby boy.  We live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

I work full time as Air Traffic Controller and in my spare time I love to create and craft.  I have a diverse and lengthy to do list and try to get things done one bit at at time. Even it is only 5 minutes here an there.

I love to sew but will also do anything else that takes my fancy, interests or inspires me.   Keeping my stash under control is a constant battle.

I have been knitting and crocheting now for a couple of years now and I am addicted to ravelry. Have a look at my projects.

I can be contacted at craftjunk (at) gmail.com

I’m currently in the process of setting up a wool shop in country Armidale NSW. I am so excited with my progress so far. Unfortunatly, I am having difficulty in sourcing wholesale distributors. I have stumbled across a few & have been asking diferent retailers lots of questions, but unfortunatly, not getting the answers I am needing. If anyone could help me, please contact Danielle at brennan.bale@optusnet.com or (02) 6772 4182.
    Thanks for your help.

  2. Hi

Do you remember me from Thursday night spinning?

How are you going, all settled in now.

And how is the spinning going these days, email me if you like, for a chat, and we can catch up on things.

  3. Hi,
I came across your page after googling “bubble quilt”….I’m just beginning the same project, but am unsure about how to do the embroidering. I tried emailing the fabric company, but haven’t had a response yet.
I was wondering, do the embroidery knots show on the back of the quilt? The instructions are to baste together the top, batting, and backing and then embroider – doesn’t that mean the knots would show? I thought about first basting only the top and batting, then embroidering – but I think the knot would slip through the batting. Any suggestions?
Beautiful choice of orange border, btw!

  5. Hi there – just following around some quilting blogs and I found yours. I don’t quilt yet but hope to start a first quilt this year, although I’m pretty crafty in other endeavors (mainly scrapbooking/cards, lots of jewelry and most recently – cupcakes!!) Even so I wanted to drop a line and say hi – I noticed you are a Controller and I also used to be a Controller at Oakland ARTCC – about six years ago now, for just over a year. Needless to say, it’s not for everyone but I have a tremendous amount of respect for women who can be controllers and also maintain a happy family life. For me it was a bit of a misalignment of my interests and took somewhat of a toll on me mentally. BUT I’m still proud I can say that I made it all the way through the tedious hiring process and also a few signoffs along the way. I give a lot of credit to ATControllers – male and female – and especially those who can balance the job with a happy “outside” life too!
